  Storytelling, What it is? Storytelling is an ancient technique of telling a story exactly as the word itself says: story and telling. And why is it so interesting to practice speaking? Here are some of the reasons: -Improve language skills. For instance listening or speaking. -Practice memory. -Lots of variety of topics. And, How can I apply it in my classes? One way to apply this resource is to tell a short story in the last quarter of class. Then we can propose some questions that the students will have to answer through speaking. This resource helps us to enhance both listening, when listening to the story, and speaking, when answering the questions. Another way to apply it is for the student to be the one to prepare a short story and tell it to the other classmates. Storytelling is a resource where we have to play with the imagination. A real example: Let's listen to this Youtube storytelling, pay attention and answer these questions: -What animals appear in the story? -...

 It is time to listen to music!! Who doesn't like listening to music? Ummm I don't know anyone so why not improve listening with songs.  Let´s go with an example: And the example song in this case is...  Yellow submarine by The Beatles. Firs step: You will have to listen to the song (without subtitles). Pay attention to the lyrics, then you will have to answer some questions about the song. Second step: Please listen to the song again but in this case you can activate the automatically generated English subtitles on Youtube. Now you must try to sing the song out loud practicing the phonetics and pronunciation of the lyrics Third step: It is time to answer the following questions -> -What is the main issue that the song deals with? -Try to write some of the chorus of the song or the most repetitive phrases. -Finally, listen to the song again with the subtitles in Spanish and write down the words that you did not know their meaning. In this case we will focused on informal email. Let's go with the informal email: - How to start: You must answer these questions before you start writing Do you know the person to whom you are addressing the email? If not you can start with a Dear and the name of the person for informal relationships. For instance, Dear Diego. However if you want to write an informal email to a person with whom you have little confidence, you can use Mr, Mrs, Miss or Ms and the name of the person. - Expressions to close an email . It is important to take into account who it is addressed to: Friends and family -> See you soon / Speak soon / Chat later... Mates or coworkers -> Regards / Best wishes / Best regards... - Extra tips : Last but not least, is that you can always use the same word structure to start...
